Import dives from your dive computer
Bring in dives from the file your computer's own software exports: which formats work, the limits, and what happens to duplicates.

If you dive with a computer, the depth, time and temperature are already recorded. DIVR does not connect to computers over Bluetooth. Instead it reads the file that your computer's own software already exports, so there is nothing to pair and nothing to retype.
Files DIVR reads
- UDDF, as .uddf or .xml. Most desktop dive software can export it.
- Subsurface logs, as .ssrf or .xml.
- Garmin FIT files, and the ZIP that Garmin Connect's Export Original gives you, as it is.
- DAN DL7, as .zxu or .zxl.
- Suunto's JSON export. The Suunto guide shows where to find it.
Import on the web
Export from your computer's software
Use whatever you use now: Shearwater Cloud, Garmin Connect, Subsurface or the Suunto app. Pick one of the formats above. The Shearwater and Suunto guides go through their menus click by click.
Open your logbook
Sign in at divr-connect.com and open your logbook. Next to the My Logbook title, click the + button, labelled Import dives from your dive computer.
Drop the files in
Drag the files onto the drop zone, or click it to choose them. DIVR reads each one and tells you how many dives it found.
Review, then import
A preview lists every dive with its date, depth, duration and temperature, and whether it carries a depth profile. Untick anything you do not want and import the rest.
Sites, duplicates and privacy
A dive computer records no position underwater, so DIVR places each dive from what the file does carry: a GPS position close to a known site, or a site name. A dive with a GPS position but no site nearby gets a new site. A dive with neither is marked in the preview and skipped, so check those before you import.
Importing the same dive twice does no harm. A dive with the same date, maximum depth and duration as one already in your logbook is skipped, so you can re-export a whole season without sorting out what is new.
Imported dives arrive private. Open one to fill in the rest, and turn on Share with Community when you are ready.
When a file will not load
Check the size first: a file over 5 MB is turned away, so export fewer dives at a time. If DIVR cannot read a file, the error shows next to its name in the list and the other files carry on. The usual cause is an export that holds no dive data, so pick the original dive file where the software offers one.
A note for Garmin divers
On connect.garmin.com, open the dive, use the gear icon and choose Export Original. Drop the ZIP it downloads straight into DIVR; there is no need to unpack it.
