Get Your Suunto Dives into DIVR
The Suunto app already exports each dive as a file. Share it to DIVR and the dive arrives with its depth profile, temperature and tank pressure, ready for a site and a species list.
Automatic sync needs Suunto's approval, and we have applied for it. Until it comes, sharing the file takes about ten seconds.
Which Computers
Any computer that syncs to the Suunto app: D5, EON Core, EON Steel, Ocean and Nautic.
How to Share a Dive
- Open the Suunto app and go to the dive you want.
- Tap the three dots in the corner and choose Export.
- Pick JSON. Older versions of the app offer FIT instead, which works too.
- Choose DIVR in the share sheet. The dive opens in DIVR's import preview.
- Give it a site if the app could not, decide whether to share it, and import. On a computer, save the file and upload it from your logbook instead.
If Something Is Different
A very long dive
A long dive on an Ocean or Nautic can produce a JSON file over 5 MB, which DIVR will refuse. Share the FIT file instead; the Suunto app exports it alongside.
Gas mix on Ocean and Nautic
The JSON from an Ocean or a Nautic never carries the gas mix, so those dives arrive without it. Add it by hand, or share the FIT, which does carry it.
Cable computers
Zoop Novo, Vyper Novo, D4i and D6i have no Bluetooth. Download them with Suunto DM5 on a computer, open that log in Subsurface, export UDDF, and upload the UDDF to DIVR.
What DIVR Keeps
- Date, time and duration
- Maximum and average depth
- Water temperature
- The depth and temperature profile, sample by sample
- Tank pressure, where the computer logged it
- Dive mode and gas mix, where the file carries them
- Share the same dive twice and DIVR skips the second
Private Until You Say So
Imported dives start private. Nothing reaches the feed, your profile or the research archive until you share it, and you do that from your logbook when you are ready.
Automatic Sync
We have applied to Suunto's partner programme for a direct connection to your Suunto account. When it is approved, dives will appear in DIVR on their own. This page is the route until then.
